As part of a school project, I created the branding for the fictitious NOJO 2024, an association created specifically for the purpose of protesting the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This organization denounces the many negative points associated with the Paris Games, such as the exorbitant price of tickets, the exploitation of undocumented workers, or the exclusion of students from their CROUS housing in order to accommodate the staff attached to the Olympics.
The logo features three distinct symbols, all represented within the icon accompanying the “NOJO 2024” typography:
On the one hand, the Eiffel Tower is represented by a sort of arch. Indeed, the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held in Paris, so the Eiffel Tower is represented here to symbolize the city hosting the Games.
On the other hand, the rounded ends of the black arch also echo the shape of the Phrygian cap, the mascot established for derivative products and other advertising and marketing elements of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Finally, the red line that closes the black arch to complete the symbol of the Eiffel Tower represents the ideology of rejection, prohibition and protest towards the Games. This is the main ideological vector of NOJO 2024.
